Released in 1993 on My Fiance’s Lifework, Wagamama na Ofukuro (“Selfish Mother”) is a characteristically confrontational Violent Onsen Geisha cassette, cutting harsh noise and distorted vocals against samples of children’s songs, nursery rhymes, and recordings of Masaya Nakahara’s own family arguing. Urashima’s 2023 vinyl reissue was limited to 299 copies.
