Based in Milan, Italy, Urashima specializes in limited vinyl reissues — typically 199 to 299 numbered copies — of formative Japanese noise recordings originally released in tiny cassette or CD editions in the 1980s and 90s, restoring and remastering them (often by noise musicians in their own right, including Lasse Marhaug and Andrea Marutti) from original tapes. Its catalog centers on Merzbow, Incapacitants, C.C.C.C., Solmania, Violent Onsen Geisha, Space Machine, K2, Pain Jerk, Government Alpha, and the foundational British noise duo The New Blockaders, giving many of the genre’s rarest early documents their first-ever vinyl pressing.
