University of Toronto Electronic Music Studio

The University of Toronto’s electronic music studio was built around a bank of twelve oscillators, each wired to its own key on a keyboard — a key could be held down (visiting composer Pauline Oliveros famously used fishing weights for this) and its oscillator’s dial turned independently while others sounded. Oliveros made much of her I of IV series there in the summer of 1966.
