American software company founded 1989/90 by Carla Scaletti and Kurt Hebel, makers of Kyma.

Founded by Carla Scaletti and Kurt Hebel after University of Illinois funding for their research lab ended in 1989, Symbolic Sound Corporation (initially “Kymatics”) continues developing the Kyma sound design environment and its associated digital signal processing hardware.
