Roland's 1987 digital synthesizer, combining sampled attack transients with synthesized tones.
Released in 1987, the D-50 combined short sampled attack transients (“Linear Arithmetic” synthesis) with synthesized sustained tones, a hybrid approach that defined a distinctly late-1980s digital sound.
