Richard Chartier
American sound artist; founder of the Line label.
Richard Chartier founded Line, a label documenting compositional and installation work by sound artists exploring minimalism, and released Steve Roden’s Forms of Paper (2001) on it — an album credited as the first “lowercase” record. He and Roden went on to collaborate directly, alongside Bernhard Günter, on (For Morton Feldman) the following year.
