Peter Christopherson
British musician and designer known as 'Sleazy' — Hipgnosis album-cover artist, founding member of Throbbing Gristle, and co-founder of Coil.
Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson (1955–2010) was a partner in the album-cover design group Hipgnosis, designing sleeves including Pink Floyd’s Wish You Were Here and Peter Gabriel’s first three solo albums, before co-founding Throbbing Gristle in 1975. After the group’s 1981 split he formed Psychic TV with Genesis P-Orridge and Alex Fergusson, playing on its first two albums, then left with John Balance to found Coil in 1984. He died in his sleep in Bangkok in November 2010.
