Monde Bruits

Shohei Iwasaki (1962–2005) recorded as Monde Bruits — French for “noise world” — from among the earliest years of Japan’s noise scene, releasing through Vanilla Records and G.R.O.S.S. It was Iwasaki who organized Masami Akita’s first performance as Merzbow, in Osaka, and the two later played together, alongside C.C.C.C.’s Fumio Kosakai and Solmania’s Masahiko Ohno, in the short-lived 1992–94 Osaka supergroup Bustmonster. Iwasaki split the 1996 release Fragmentagraph with Pain Jerk, and recorded as Sian with Aube’s Akifumi Nakajima. He died in a motorcycle accident in 2005.
