Released in 1981 at roughly $1,095, the Polysix is a six-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer, one VCO plus sub-oscillator per voice, with a built-in BBD-based chorus/phase/ensemble effect, an arpeggiator, a unison mode, and 32 onboard patch memories with cassette backup. Priced at roughly a third of contemporaries like the Sequential Prophet-5 or Oberheim OB-X, it was one of the first genuinely affordable analog polysynths with programmable memory, putting patch-storable polyphony within reach of non-professional buyers.
