Knut Wiggen
Norwegian-Swedish composer; director of Elektronmusikstudion (EMS) in Stockholm and creator of the MusicBox composition software.
Knut Wiggen (1927–2016) planned and led Elektronmusikstudion (EMS) in Stockholm from 1964 to 1975, where he created MusicBox, an early object-oriented simulation language for spatial electronic composition, and used it to compose works including Sommarmorgon (1972) and Massa (1974). He had earlier chaired the Swedish new-music society Fylkingen from 1959 to 1969.
