James McCartney

American programmer, creator of the SuperCollider audio synthesis language.

James McCartney studied computer science and electronic music at the University of Texas at Austin before creating SuperCollider in 1996, releasing it as open source in 2002 after joining Apple, where he spent sixteen years in the CoreAudio group.
