Renamed in 1967 from the Studio voor Elektronische Muziek under director Gottfried Michael Koenig, the Institute of Sonology at Utrecht University continued as a leading center for electronic and computer music research and teaching before relocating in 1993 to the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where it continues under directors including Kees Tazelaar.
