Hands To
Jeph Jerman's project built from found natural objects, homemade devices, and tape, active from the mid-1980s.
Hands To was one of the names Jeph Jerman recorded and performed under from the mid-1980s, alongside sampler-and-tape work as City of Worms and noise-rock improvisation as Big Joey — building pieces from found natural objects, crude homebuilt devices, and tape manipulation rather than conventional or electronic instruments. Releases included Fingers Breath (Sound of Pig Music, 1987) and Do Not Touch Them (Big Body Parts, 1987). Jerman eventually stopped using the Hands To name, continuing his sound work under his own name and with numerous collaborators.
