Günter Müller
Swiss percussionist and electronic musician, founder of the For4Ears label.
Günter Müller (b. October 20, 1954, Munich; resident in Switzerland since 1966) began as a jazz drummer before moving into free improvisation, amplifying his drum set with contact microphones and, from around 2000, shifting his focus increasingly to electronics, at times abandoning percussion altogether. He founded the label For4Ears and has recorded extensively with Voice Crack, Keith Rowe, and Christian Marclay, appeared as an outside contributor to Gastr del Sol’s Camoufleur (1998), and recorded the 1996 quartet session For4Ears CD 820 and 1997’s Table Chair and Hatstand with Jim O’Rourke.
