Wolf Eyes

Nate Young began Wolf Eyes as a solo project in Ann Arbor, Michigan, in 1996. Aaron Dilloway joined in 1998, and John Olson — previously of Universal Indians — in 2000, forming the lineup that carried the group through its mid-2000s signing to Sub Pop. Dilloway left in 2005, uninterested in extensive touring, replaced by Mike Connelly (2006–2012) and later Jim Baljo (2013–2017); Young and Olson have continued as a core duo since. The group has released extensively through Olson’s own American Tapes and Dilloway’s Hanson Records, and recorded Live Frying (2014, American Tapes) with Merzbow, who also joined Wolf Eyes and Richard Pinhas for the spontaneous live set Victoriaville Mai 2011. The group has also collaborated and performed with a wide range of other artists over the years, including Anthony Braxton, John Wiese, and Smegma.
