Richard Teitelbaum
American composer and synthesizer pioneer, co-founder of Musica Elettronica Viva.
Richard Teitelbaum (1939–2020) was an American composer who co-founded Musica Elettronica Viva in Rome in 1966 with Alvin Curran and Frederic Rzewski. After meeting Robert Moog in 1966 and enlisting his help building circuitry to amplify sub-audio brainwaves as control voltages, Teitelbaum bought a Moog modular system in 1967 — the first in Europe — and brought it back to MEV, whose live sets over the following years often processed amplified brainwaves and other biofeedback signals through it.
