Founded in Warsaw in November 1957 by musicologist Józef Patkowski, who directed it until 1985, the Polish Radio Experimental Studio was one of Europe’s first electronic music centers, becoming a laboratory whose influence reached across Polish musical life through composers including Krzysztof Penderecki, Eugeniusz Rudnik, and Bohdan Mazurek.
