Nonlinear Labs C15
Nonlinear Labs' 61-key digital synthesizer, built around a feedback-based physical-modeling engine for expressive, automation-free playing.
Unveiled at Superbooth 2016, the C15 is a 61-key digital synthesizer deliberately built without sequencers, arpeggiators, or LFOs, putting its emphasis on expressive real-time playing over automation. Its Phase 22 engine, designed by Stephan Schmitt, combines phase modulation between pairs of sine oscillators and shapers with extensive internal feedback paths — producing physical-modeling-like behavior (sustained, woodwind- or bowed-string-like tones that respond organically to touch) without any dedicated waveguide or resonator model.
