Mark Fell

British artist and musician working with algorithmic composition, rhythm, and microtonal synthesis.

Mark Fell (b. 1966, Sheffield) is a British artist and musician who, after studying experimental film and video art, returned to earlier interests in computation and synthetic sound. Half of the duo SND with Mat Steel since 1998, he works across solo and collaborative practice — including with Laurie Spiegel, John Chowning, and Peter Rehberg, and as a systems developer building interactive and generative art installations — exploring algorithmic composition, rhythmic structure, and microtonal and just-intonation synthesis.
