Han Bennink
Dutch percussionist; co-founder of the Instant Composers Pool, central to both Dutch and British free improvisation.
Han Bennink (b. 1942) co-founded the Instant Composers Pool with Misha Mengelberg and Willem Breuker in 1967, becoming a central figure in Dutch improvised music. He also crossed into the British free-improvisation scene, performing on The Topography of the Lungs (1970) with Derek Bailey and Evan Parker — the first release on their newly founded Incus Records.
