English saxophonist central to free improvisation; co-founder of Incus Records.
Evan Parker (b. 1944) co-founded the Music Improvisation Company with Derek Bailey, percussionist Jamie Muir, and electronics player Hugh Davies in 1968, and in 1970 co-founded Incus Records with Bailey, Tony Oxley, and Michael Walters — the first musician-owned independent record label in England, launched with The Topography of the Lungs, a trio recording with Bailey and Han Bennink.
