American sampling instrument manufacturer founded by Dave Rossum.
Founded in Santa Cruz in 1972 by Dave Rossum, E-mu Systems built the E-mu Modular System, the Emulator and Emax sampler lines, and the SP-12/SP-1200 sampling drum machines before its 1994 acquisition by Creative Labs.
