Don Cherry (1936-1995) was an American trumpeter, a key figure alongside Ornette Coleman in the emergence of free jazz, known for his pocket trumpet and for later fusing jazz with musics from around the world, including on the 1977 duo recording Roundtrip with Jean Schwarz.
