Danish Radio Electronic Music Studio
Informal studio Else Marie Pade organized at Danmarks Radio in the late 1950s.
In the latter half of the 1950s, composer Else Marie Pade organized an interim electronic sound studio within Danmarks Radio (DR) alongside technician Jørgen Lauridsen, working with both concrete and synthetic sound. There, with sound engineer Sven Drehn-Knudsen, Pade produced Symphonie Magnétophonique (1958-59), a tape-music portrait of a day and night in Copenhagen, broadcast in DR’s 1959 series Musik i Atomalderen (“Music in the Atomic Age”).
