Founded in San Francisco in 1997 by David Zicarelli, who acquired the publishing rights to Miller Puckette’s Max, Cycling ‘74 continued Max’s commercial development — adding MSP, Jitter, Max for Live (with Ableton), Gen, and RNBO — before Ableton acquired the company in 2017.
