Klaus Schulze’s second solo album, released on the Cosmic Couriers imprint, extended the heavily filtered organ-and-orchestra approach of Irrlicht with the addition of an EMS VCS3 synthesizer — a double album whose two side-long pieces moved Schulze’s solo work further toward the electronic, sequencer-oriented direction that would define his mid-1970s records.
