Cosmos From Diode Ladder Filter

Maso Yamazaki's 2001 all-analog cosmic-electronic album under the Space Machine name.

Released in 2001 on Alchemy Records, Cosmos From Diode Ladder Filter marks Space Machine’s (Maso Yamazaki’s) turn away from the harsh noise of his Masonna project toward non-rhythmic, purely analog electronic soundscapes, made entirely on vintage gear — EMS VCS3, Roland systems, and analog echo chambers — at his Space Machine Systems Studio in Osaka, in a lineage closer to Klaus Schulze’s early Kosmische synthesizer work than to noise. Its eleven untitled pieces include collaborations with Makoto Kawabata (Acid Mothers Temple) and Hiroshi Hasegawa of C.C.C.C.. Reissued on vinyl by Urashima in 2022.
