Recorded at Piethopraxis Tonstudio in Cologne in August 2000 and released as Erstwhile Records’ twelfth title, Bart paired Thomas Lehn’s analog synthesizer with Marcus Schmickler’s digital synthesizer and computer across five improvised tracks shifting constantly between chaos and control — the duo’s first recorded meeting, later expanded into a trio with Keith Rowe on Rabbit Run (2003).
