Autobahn
Kraftwerk's 1974 breakthrough album, its title track a US Top 5 hit that established the group's electronic concept-album approach.

Co-produced with Conny Plank, Autobahn built its 22-minute title track around the image of driving West Germany’s federal highway network, its synthesizers and vocoder-processed vocals rendering the hum of traffic as electronic pulse. An edited single became a Top 5 hit in the United States, establishing Kraftwerk’s run of electronic concept albums voicing postwar German machine culture directly through synthesizer and rhythm.
