Deleuze and Guattari's 1972 attack on psychoanalytic and structuralist accounts of desire, introducing schizoanalysis.
Published in France in 1972 as L’Anti-Œdipe, the first volume of Capitalism and Schizophrenia argues that desire is directly productive — a factory, not a theater staging a lack — and that psychoanalysis’s Oedipal triangle domesticates and represses desire’s genuinely social and historical dimensions. Deleuze and Guattari propose schizoanalysis as an alternative, tracing how capitalism itself works by continuously coding and decoding flows of desire.
