Alvin Curran
American composer, co-founder of Musica Elettronica Viva.
Alvin Curran (b. 1938) is an American composer who, after studying with Elliott Carter at Yale, moved to Rome and co-founded Musica Elettronica Viva in 1966 with Frederic Rzewski and Richard Teitelbaum, becoming one of the group’s core members across its decades of live electronic improvisation.
